Grant Sharp is a recovering alcoholic and drug
addict. In 1989 his life became unmanageable and he was admitted
to a residential treatment centre and received therapy for his
addictions. He felt very strongly that he wanted to help people
in a similar situation and retrained as a counsellor with the
Priory Hospitals Group. He now has 16 years experience and is
a member of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals.
He was grateful to receive counselling from people who understood
his illness, and the continued support of other recovering alcoholics
and drug addicts.
Grant has helped many people with alcoholism, drug addiction
and some with eating disorders. With professional therapy and
a willingness to begin a new life without the crutch of drink
of drugs, Grant believes that you can regain your self esteem
and enjoy life as it should be. Life without drinks and drugs
initially will be difficult, but with the right help and support,
it is possible.
Sue Sharp has been married to Grant for 14
years. Grant and Sue first met when they were 18 but did not
marry until some years later when Grant had come out of treatment.
Sue has been a civil servant for over 20 years, and for the
last 10 years has helped to develop government employment policies
for people with disabilities. As a contract manager Sue has
also worked with large organizations and charities who provide
employment finding services for disabled people.
There are also other counsellors who work with LLB Counselling
Services as the need arises. |
